Non-executive recruitment

Welcome to the National Oceanography Centre.

As world leaders in marine science, we have the responsibility for leading and providing the UK National Capability on behalf of the UK Government and the marine research community. We’re a registered charity and an independent organisation, with ambitious and innovative plans regarding our spend and investment.

With the importance of understanding the world’s ocean becoming increasingly prominent in the context of global climate change, our mission is to make sense of the changing seas, upon which future human prosperity and wellbeing depends.

We have a skilled, committed and experienced executive team and board, and are seeking three new Non-Executive Directors to contribute to our purpose of gaining deeper knowledge of the ocean to help every living thing on our planet flourish.

Our preference is for two individuals from the scientific community and one with a commercial background.  You don’t have to have been a trustee before, but you do need the skills and enthusiasm necessary to help us continue to grow, innovate, and balance commercial success with our impact in developing the world’s understanding of the oceans.

These are exciting opportunities to be part of the team that will lead the National Oceanography Centre to achieve our ambitions in ocean science.

I continue to be inspired by our success and potential for further growth and innovation and trust that you share our enthusiasm for the impact we can have on our planet.

Thank you for your interest in joining our Board.

SIR JEREMY DARROCH
CHAIRMAN OF TRUSTEES
